Staff members of the Alumni Relations department at Joliet Junior College (JJC) invite residents and community members to an alumni social from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at The Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood. Any JJC student or graduate is welcome.
The JJC staff will bring yearbooks from the 1920s – 1970s. Attendees will have the opportunity to reminisce about old times and describe their time at the college.
Joliet Junior College recently lost its oldest living alumna Marie Ghilain who lived at The Timbers of Shorewood for several happy years. She was 104½ years old.
The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides senior independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
The social is free and open to the public. For more information contact Shelly Goggins at (815) 609-0669.
