Nick Desmond, a vocalist and pianist, will perform at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 3, at the Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Rd. The live concert is free and open to the public.
Desmond directs the 20 piece Grand Avenue Big Band and is Chicagoland’s only big band featuring the Andrews Sisters style vocal trio: Strictly Uptown. Since 1992, the band has entertained at hundreds of events including performances on WGN-TV.
The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
