What residents are saying
"The professional staff of the Timbers is exceptional. Not only are they well qualified and experienced, but they demonstrate a genuine care and concern for each and all of the residents. I particularly like the flexibility of the time where my wife enjoys eating her meals and visiting with her friends in the restaurant. While I prefer eating in the comfort of my apartment in my pj’s, a robe and some slippers." Russ Corey "My Mother has been a resident of the Timbers of Shorewood for over four years. From the first time my wife and I visited the Timbers (well before Mom moved in) we decided that when the time was right, this is where we wanted Mom to live. At first, we were simply impressed by the newness and cleanliness of the facility. The more we learned as time went on, the more we realized there were many more reasons why this was the place that we would entrust with Mom’s care. First and foremost, is the caring staff. Provisions were made for Mom’s special dietary requirements. Her meals are monitored daily with great care by the restaurant staff. The home care team is very attentive and very committed to performing their critical task successfully. Whenever an issue or concern comes up, it is addressed with an appropriate sense of urgency. I am a very involved family member and communicate frequently with the staff there. Mom is known personally and treated as if she was a family member." Nicholas S. Macris "At some point in your life you may have to consider finding an independent or assisted living facility for a relative or loved one. I was fortunate to have selected The Timbers of Shorewood located on River Road in Shorewood, IL. It is very convenient for me to visit my mother because I live in Shorewood. However, for those visiting from out of town, highway I-55 is very close to the senior living facility. My mother, Marie, became a resident of the Timbers in March, 2006. My family has been very satisfied with the type of care she has received in that period of time. Marie lives in a one bedroom apartment in one of the independent rental buildings and purchases some assisted services. For example, a CNA (certified Nurses assistant) gives her medications 3 times per day, room checks every two hours, washes a basket of clothing once per week, etc. I have been extremely satisfied with the overall care of the various CNA’s, dining room employees, receptionists at the front desk, administrators and building maintenance employees. I really feel that the employees at the Timbers enjoy working with senior citizens. I sense that the residents enjoy living at the Timbers because they receive this specialized care from caring employees. The majority are dedicated, conscientious and very friendly."
