The Timbers of Shorewood Senior Living hosted the “Hippity-Hop Easter Bunny Lane Drive Up” on Saturday, April 4. Due to a week of heavy rainfall the traditional outdoor egg hunt was converted to a drive-up event which welcomed approximately 250 cars to the celebration. The Easter Bunny distributed 13,000 candy-filled Easter eggs directly to children through their car windows.
Originally planned as a traditional outdoor lawn hunt and petting zoo, the event was transitioned to a drive-up format to ensure the safety of guests and residents after the grounds became oversaturated.
“We were blown away by the turnout and the smiles we saw through every car window,” said Sheila Albor, director of marketing at the Timbers of Shorewood. “When it became clear the rain wouldn’t allow for a safe outdoor hunt, our team worked quickly to pivot to the drive-up format. Seeing 250 cars line up was a testament to the community’s resilience and their desire to celebrate with us.”
Families followed directional signs through the Timbers’ campus to meet the Easter Bunny stationed at the main entrance. The event remained free to the public, continuing the Timbers’ long-standing tradition of community engagement.
