At the Timbers of Shorewood, scheduled medication reminders are available to ensure medication is taken at the right times. A cup of water is provided by our care team members, and they will document that the medications were taken. Medications are stored in pre-prepared planners in a locked drawer in the privacy of a resident’s apartment.
A nurse can manage and set up a resident’s medication pill box and oversee the overall management of the resident’s medications. This includes management of the current medication list, maintaining proper storage of the medication, taking care of refills, communicating with the resident’s physician and hospital, and reconciling medications after a hospitalization.
