Twenty two seniors completed the Timbers of Shorewood’s Academy for Seniors 24-week course – “Medical Myths, Lies, and Half Truths” in May of 2025. Launched in 2018, the Timbers’ Academy for Seniors features continuing education courses on a wide range of topics.

The Timbers of Shorewood is celebrating a remarkable three-peat. For the third consecutive year, the community has been voted “Best Senior Living Community in Will County” by readers of the Herald-News in their 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards. This award is a testament to the dedication of our entire team who go above and beyond to create a vibrant and supportive community for our residents.
The Timbers of Shorewood donated $15,500 to the Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association as part of #GivingTuesday. To date, The Timbers of Shorewood has donated more than $66,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Stephen Saporta, principle and founder of Saporta Law Offices in Joliet, donated funds that were used to purchase 30 copies of WriteOn Joliet’s latest anthology for members of the Timbers of Shorewood’s book club.
